In a ‘Sleepy Hollow’ wood

Tim Burton must have based the crooked tree profile in his adaptation of Washington Irving’s ‘Sleepy Hollow’....
....on my favourite tree in this wooded walk.

The Bark [1]...Hide and peek

When [much] younger, I remember using a tree to hide.
When I wasn’t peeking from what I thought was the safe hiding place behind the tree....
....I had a close up view of the tree’s skin.
I still peek from behind a tree!

The Bark [2]...Blemishes on the skin

The bark is such a fertile surface for....
....the inanimate and animate.
Tree barks are great metaphors for shared and diverse growth.

A ‘Zen’ landscape

In the foreground....
....an intricate façade with views of...
....the background
Foreground, middle ground and background vistas are asking to be explored.

I’m being watched [1]

These arboreal monsters appear to be looking down at me....
...with some displeasure!

I’m being watched [2]

Are these trees....
....smiling at me?
