This walk was a literal interpretation of the above.

What I see and what I hear on my walks depends on:

•  How ‘present’ I am to the walk's landscape, both animate and inanimate.

•  Where my eye and ear levels are and what the eyes and ears are focussed on.

This surface ‘talks.’

Road graphics soften the harsh asphalt acoustic.

Walking on these markings is part of me reclaiming the street.

I used to know a guy who collected ‘manhole’ covers.

He argued they were an unseen part of 19th century ephemera.
